I Don't Know Where We're At Now

We seem to be bouncing between 'Mr Nice-guy' and 'Mr What's The Point, I hate my life, nobody loves me'. I think he is scared because he is 60 next year. He has brought up the boys to walk all over him and now he doesn't like it. He is bored and he is jealous that I have a hobby. Anyway, he cried a lot yesterday. Today things seem a bit strained but almost 'normal'. I don't really know what's going on.

Perhaps a better name would be "Mr Pity Me" ... Don't fall into the old trap .... He could use counselling ... he would have someone to talk to ... Don't forget yourself though ... You have important things to do and the girls to take care of ... I know it can be hard, but you have people who are standing behind you .... and those who are close who can help you ... ((((((((((hugs))))))))))

He sounds like he is on the road to depression.

With my usual proviso of trying to never assume that 'I know what it's like'...

I think he has all sorts of issues, probably most of which can be explained, perhaps even excused (?) by his unhappy past. Very few people are 'bad' or 'evil' and I don't think he's one of them. BUT the bottom line is, you've tried REALLY hard to help and he just hasn't allowed it to work.

Breaking up is indeed hard to do but I think there comes a point where you question 'which would be worse?'.

Look after yourself and your girls, in whatever way you think is best. With you or without you, he has to grow up and stop feeling he's a victim, when he transparently is not.
